Trendy Family Car - Toyota Prius

The Toyota Prius is a full hybrid electric mid-size hatchback, formerly a compact sedan developed and manufactured by the Toyota Motor Corporation. The EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB) rate the Prius as among the cleanest vehicles sold in the United States based on smog forming and toxic emissions.

The Prius first went on sale in Japan in 1997, making it the first mass-produced hybrid vehicle. It was subsequently introduced worldwide in 2001. The Prius is sold in more than 70 countries and regions, with its largest markets being those of Japan and North America. In May 2008, global cumulative Prius sales reached the milestone 1 million vehicle mark, and in September 2010, the Prius reached worldwide cumulative sales of 2.0 million units. The U.S. is the largest market, with 1 million Prii sold by early April 2011, and Japan reached the 1 million mark in August 2011. Since its launch in 2009, the third-generation model has sold more than 1 million units worldwide by September 2011.

Prius is a Latin word meaning "before". According to Toyota, the name was chosen because the Prius was launched before environmental awareness became a mainstream social issue.

In February 2011, Toyota asked the public to decide on what the most proper plural form of Prius should be, with choices including Prien, Prii, Prium, Prius, or Priuses. The company says "it will use the most popular choice in its advertising" and on February 20 announced that "Prii" was the most popular choice, and the new official plural designation. In Latin prius is the neuter singular of the comparative form (prior, prior, prius) of an adjective with only comparative and superlative (the superlative being primus, prima, primum), consequently, like all 3rd declension words, the plural in Latin was priora (cf. Latin declension).

Beginning in September 2011, Toyota USA began using the following names to differentiate the original Prius from some newer members of the Prius family: the standard Prius became the Prius Liftback, the Prius v (known as the Prius α in Japan, and Prius + in Europe), the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, and the Prius c. The last two are scheduled to be available in the market in 2012.

Trendy Luxury Car - Toyota Allion

The Toyota Allion is a compact sedan sold in Japan by Toyota as designated by Japanese regulations concerning exterior dimensions and engine displacement. The Toyota Allion has a lot of space for the people sitting in the back-seats. It has a youthful smart look as the Allion is marketed towards a younger generation.

The name is created based on the phrase "all-in-one".

Launched December 25, 2001, it replaced the Toyota Carina, a model that first appeared in 1970. The Allion has an emphasis towards younger buyers in comparison to the Toyota Premio sedan, which has a more elegant approach, and both were launched at the same time. The Premio and the Allion share the same engines and interior. The Allion can be customized with front spoilers and rear mounted trunk wings, as well as ground effect body parts to enhance the vehicles appearance specially designed and sold by Toyota. The Allion also features rear tilting seats (similar to front seats). The Allion continues the Toyota tradition by being made for taxi usage, driving school and law enforcement versions.

December 20, 2004, the Allion received a modest restyle with the introduction of LED taillights.

The second generation was introduced June 4, 2007, with Toyota continuing to offer appearance modifications at local dealerships, with AWD being offered on vehicles equipped with the 2ZR-FE 1.8 L direct injection engine. G-BOOK is on the list of optional features.

The Allion was again restyled in 2010 with more aggressive and sharper looking headlights and twin LED taillights while the interior remaining somewhat same.

Luxury Family Car - Chevrolet HHR

The Chevrolet HHR (for Heritage High Roof) was a retro-styled station wagon launched by the Chevrolet division of American automaker General Motors at the 2005 Los Angeles Auto Show as a 2006 model — and designed by Bryan Nesbitt. Smaller than the Equinox, the HHR shared the GM Delta platform with the Chevrolet Cobalt, Pontiac G5, Saturn Ion, and Saturn Astra. In Mexico, it was sold alongside its predecessor, the Opel-sourced Chevrolet Zafira compact MPV. The car also resembles the shape of the Chrysler PT Cruiser.

The last HHR's were assembled in May 2011. The HHR will be sold in dealerships across North America until October 2011 (or stock rupture). In the compact crossover wagon/SUV class, the HHR will be succeeded by the Chevrolet Captiva Sport in the US (already sold in Mexico), and the Chevrolet Orlando in Canada.

The vehicle's design was inspired by the mid-1940s Chevrolet cars and trucks, specifically the 1949 Chevrolet Suburban, with large, square fender flares and a hemispherical grille. The design of the HHR has been credited to Bryan Nesbitt who was a former designer at Chrysler where he was the lead designer of the Chrysler PT Cruiser. Nesbitt was recruited by GM to join its design staff and served for a time as the chief designer of the Chevrolet brand. The HHR had a cargo-carrying capacity of 62.7 cubic feet (1.78 m3). All models had a flat-load floor (passenger models have 60/40 split bench) and fold-flat front passenger seat. For the 2007 model year, it was available in four trim levels; LS, LT, 2LT, and Special Edition. A panel van variant was also made available in 2007 for only the LT trim and became available on all trim levels in 2008.
